The history of ayurveda goes back to thousand of years. The primary goal of ayurveda has been twofold promotion of health and managing the disease. Ayurvedic herbs have long been used for its therapeutic and healing abilities. In fact, they are gaining in popularity throughout the world as more and more people emigrate and as more find out about the benefits of these herbs. There are specific types of Ayurvedic herbs like ashwagandha, manjistha, turmeric, shankhpushpi, aloe vera, flax seeds, licorice etc. Herbs used should preferably be fresh. Ayurvedic herbs would work also when added to fresh foods that promotes digestion. These include organic vegetables and fruits, soups and flat breads.
