Mint has been known as both a seasoning and a medicine for centuries. A few dishes prepared with mint leaves are mint-coriander chutney, rasam, sambar, meat, fish, poultry items and biryanis, stews, teas, tobacco and cordials. The fresh leaf tops are used for garnishing beverages, salads, sauces, jellies, ice creams, fruit cups, etc. Mint is also used for medicinal purposes.
